Dozens of customers waited in line outside of MOD Pizza in Summerwood, eager to get pizza in support of the education. Yes, you heard right! Supporting the education has never tasted better. The meals served at MOD Pizza on September 22nd did more than fill up hundreds of tummies. 100 percent of all food sales were given to the Humble ISD Education Foundation.
“I am so excited to be a part of something to help children and have an opportunity to broaden the ways they learn. We love helping to make learning fun and exciting,” General Manager John Taner said.
The mission of the Humble ISD Education Foundation is to support innovative and creative learning opportunities for the students in Humble ISD.
“The supporters of the Humble ISD Foundation Family are really heroes and we are proud to be a part of this family. This donation will help launch educational programs for the great minds in our community. Taner said.
The funds will support a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) after school project at Ridge Creek Elementary and an anti-bullying program at Summer Creek High School.
“We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to partner with MOD Pizza and welcome them to our community. As we saw the crowds on September 22nd, the The Lake Houston community is very generous!” said Jerri Monbaron, Humble ISD Education Foundation Executive Director.
A total of $3,839.31 was raised on September 22nd. The funds will support programs at both Ridge Creek Elementary and Summer Creek High School. Ridge Creek Elementary will receive financial support for their Club STEAM program. This initiative is focused on student centered learning with engaging activities that give enrichment experiences to motivate all students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Summer Creek High School will use their funds to support an anti-bullying program called Rachel’s Challenge.
